4 Day Guided self drive tour of the Damaraland
Damaraland and Kaokoland Wilderness
Desert Elephant and Himba excursion
This guided self-drive tour takes you to the last true wilderness areas of Namibia, where wildlife roams and tribes lives as they have done for the past 1000 years. Clients can incorporate this into their Itinerary as it is only a 4 day trip.

Itinerary:
This tour is going to be an expedition. The itinerary serves as an indication of the
route, but due to road conditions and unforeseen circumstances, the day-to-day
programme may be adjusted.
Day 1
Meeting point 11H00 at the Sand Dragon Coffee shop in Omaruru. (Lunch on own account).
Drive via Erongo mountains to Uis, and continue trough the Ugab Valley and into the Kalahari dunes of Damaraland. We will camp wild in the dunes tonight. Campsite dinner
Day 2
Early departure after Breakfast, drive through the Okendeka geological landscape of Damaraland.
Afternoon arrival at Palmwag lodge and then into the wilderness concession Kaokoland, crossing the Uniab River and driving through desert landscape filled with oases, a haven for wildlife like Oryx, Harman mountain zebra, springbok and Desert Elephant. This is also the last free roaming place on earth where you can find the endangered Black Rhinoceros.  Lunch will be served somewhere in between site seeing.
This is rocky terrain and very remote, so chances are, we will be the only people crossing these desert plans and mountain valley to day.
We will camp wild in the wilderness and the African Stars. Campsite Dinner
Day 3
After Breakfast we drive north toward the Huanib and follow the river in an Eastern direction toward Sesfontein. This Dry riverbed is full of springs and is called the Desert elephant highway, as they are forge ding from the great Anna trees growing here.
In the rainy season we may have to divert, as this river may be flooded and impossible to drive. We will continue north towards Purros through the mountain valleys and take a more northern route to Sesfontein. Lunch will be served somewhere in between site seeing.
This is the roaming area of the elusive desert lion and we will keep an eye out for signs of these desert predators
Sesfontain is an old German fort build by the colonial Schutz truppen in 1906, now newly renovated as a lodge; here we will freshen up with a drink at the bar.
Near by we will visit one of the local Himba Kraals, and learn more about there nomadic way of live as there ancestors has lived for the last 1000 years.
We will camp at Warm Quelle and bath in the crystal clear waters of Ongongo falls. Campsite dinner
Day 4
Sadly our expedition has come to an end and after breakfast we drive south via Kamanjab and Outjo toward Windhoek.
Tour ends at the Vet fence at Palmwag
